...Gulabin Lodge is here for you

Gulabin Lodge is a family run hostel/bunkhouse (Visit Scotland 4 Star grading) providing self catering accommodation and activity breaks for individuals, families and groups.  The lodge is situated in the Spittal of Glenshee at the foot of Ben Gulabin, (2843 feet) in its own grounds of approx. 1.5 acres. With stunning views of the local Glenshee mountains it is an ideal location for group and family gatherings, outdoor activity weekends/breaks, stag and hen parties, outdoor skills and training weekends, accommodation for the Cateran Trail and corporate activities and training.

For the outdoor enthusiast, we have access to the Southern Cairngorms from our back door. For the walker, many Munros are easily accessible from the lodge; for kayakers/canoeists there is an abundance of challenging rivers to explore all year round, and for the skier, the lodge is the closest accommodation to the Glenshee ski slopes. Gulabin Lodge is a great base for any adventure.

We are also registered with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) for providing activities to children under the age of 18 years.      Licence No: L8297/R1801

Our Location

Gulabin Lodge is situated in the heart of the historic Glenshee Mountains in the Southern area of the Cairngorms National Park at the Spittal of Glenshee. Situated near the main A93 between Braemar and Blairgowrie, it is ideally located to visit many of the local attractions such as Balmoral, Braemar and Glamis Castles, to name but a few.

Gulabin Lodge

The Lodge was built in 1846 and was originally a manse to the local church.  It has been tastefully upgraded over recent years, but with its original charm retained, it’s a wonderful place to relax and unwind. To complement your stay why not try some of the many outdoor activities available, both on site and local. These range from canyoning days, rock climbing/abseiling, aerial runway, leap of faith, high ropes challenge, tree climbing, archery, clay pigeon shooting and much more. We offer these and more at Cairnwell Mountain Sports.

The Facilities

The Lodge is equipped with underfloor heating throughout and nine individual bedrooms. It has a large well-equipped, self catering kitchen fitted in Dec 2009, two cosy and attractive lounges, both with cheerful log fires, a large dining room seating 40 completed in Dec 2009 and there are tea/coffee making facilities available all day. A drying room is also available during the colder months.

New for 2011 is a small cafe on site.

Also this year a new 17 seat minibus has been purchased to assit with the transportation of groups etc. Airpoprt pick ups/rtns are available. For prices and further details please call/email.
